• Encouraging children to eat well and learn about food in their early years not only protects their health when they are young, but also sets the foundations for their future health and wellbeing. A healthy diet and regular exercise are essential to ensuring that children achieve their full potential and are therefore key to a child’s optimum learning experience. As such, we follow the ‘Eat Better Start Better’ Voluntary Food and Drink Guidelines for Early Years Settings in England, which set the gold standard of childhood nutrition for nurseries.

  • Our children enjoy a healthy and well-balanced diet prepared by our chef in our on-site kitchen, which includes breakfast, lunch and tea with interim snacks. We positively encourage children to eat and to try unfamiliar food in order to educate their palates, and in addition we include international and multi-ethnic cuisine in our menus to widen their range of culinary experiences.  Mealtimes should be a happy, social occasion so staff eat with the children in order to create a family feel and to help children learn good eating habits and table manners.

  • We accommodate special dietary requirements on medical, religious, and preference grounds, for example we can provide dairy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian versions of our meals. We do not use beef or pork, and we do not add salt or excessive sugar to our meals.

  • Weaning is an important and delicate step in your child’s development, and we aim to provide as much support as possible as you introduce solid foodstuffs to your child. We do not use a set menu for weaning babies, but rather our chef will cater for each baby’s individual requirements, only feeding them foods which they have already sampled at home. We use fresh fruit and vegetables to prepare meals for weaning babies from scratch, and as they get older, we adapt their meals accordingly until they are ready to graduate onto our regular children’s menus. We provide baby formula in accordance with your baby’s needs and can store expressed breast milk.
